Princess Diane Françoise Maria da Gloria d'Orléans, The Duchess of Württemberg was born 24 March 1940 as the fourth daughter and sixth child of Prince Henri, The Count of Paris and Princess Isabelle d'Orléans-Braganza{Source}. After several years in exile in Brazil, her family returned to France in 1953 {Source}.

She became interested in painting at the age of 14, with a particular interest in silk painting. At 16 years of age, she began taking classes at the Académie Julian in Paris {Source}. During her time at Académie Julian, she also studied silk screen painting, oil painting , stuccowork, glass and wood painting{Source}. 

She married Carl, Duke of Württemberg  on 21 July 1960. Together, they have six children, six children-in-law, and several grandchildren:
