She was primarily educated in England, where she attended Badminton School for Girls,Bryanston School. She also attended St. Hilda's College, Oxford.  She holds a BA honours in Philosophy, politics & economics{Source}.

On 10 April 2004, Princess Haya wed His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai{Source}.  Together, they have two children{Source}:


On 7 February 2019, her husband divorced Princess Haya under Sharia law, though she was not informed at the time. The date was the twentieth anniversary of the death of her father, King Hussein of Jordan{Source}. On 15 April 2019, Princess Haya left Dubai with her children Sheikha Jalila and Sheikh Zayed to reside in the United Kingdom, attracting much media attention. On 14 May 2019, Sheikh Mohammed commenced proceedings in England and Wales under the inherent jurisdiction of the High Court seeking orders for the children to be returned to the Emirate of Dubai {Source}On 30 July 2019 at the High Court, Princess Haya issued applications for the children to be made Wards of Court, and for a forced marriage protection order (FMPO) with respect to Jalila, and for a non-molestation order for her own protection {Source}. On 11 December 2019, in the High Court of Justice Family Division, Royal Courts of Justice, London, the Rt Hon Sir Andrew McFarlane, President of the Family Division, handed down a Fact Finding Judgment (FFJ), subject to a four hour embargo ending at 4 pm on 5 March 2020. In January 2020, a UK judge orerd that her former husband had no diplomatic ammunity in the case and ordered that he obey UK laws regarding the proceedings. On 5 March 2020, the UK Supreme Court refused Sheikh Mohammed permission to make an appeal against publication of the High Court judgments of 11 December 2019 and 17 January 2020, saying his case did "not raise an arguable point of law of general public importance"{Source}. On 5 March 2020, the High Court found that Sheikh Mohammed had orchestrated the abductions of two of his other children {Source}.

The Princess is an active Equestrian and humanitarian. She began her show jumping career at age 13 {Source} In 2002, she participated in the FEI World Equestrian Games in Spain{Source}. She also competed in the 2000 Sydney Olympics{Source}.  She also participated in the 1992 Pan Arab Games in Syria {Source}.  In 2006, she was elected President of the FEI for a 4-year term {Source}, she made history getting elected a second time in 2010 {Source}.  She is also patron of the Retraining of Racehorses{Source}.  She is also president of the International Jordanian Athletes Cultural Association {Source}. She founded Tikyet Um Ali, chair's Dubai's International Humanitarian City {Source} She is the first Arab and first woman to become a Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations World Food Programme {Source} Princess Haya was an ambassador for the World Food Programme 2005-2007{Source}  She was then appointed a UN Messenger of Peace in July 2007 by Secretary-General Ban-Ky Moon{Source}.  She founded the first food assistance NGO in the Middle East, Tikyet Um Ali {Source}. She was a founding member of former Secretary-General Kofi Annan's Global Humanitarian Forum based in Geneva, and writes editorials and articles on hunger, nutrition and the UN Millennium Development Goals{Source}  She serves on the boards of many non-profit organizations. In August 2012, she supported the 2012 United Nations' World Humanitarian Day in Dubai{Source}.

Her biological mother died in a helicopter crash when she was was just four years old. When she was five years old, her father married Queen Noor. Her father died when she was 24 years old.

She is the only Jordanian woman to hold a license to drive heavy trucks {Source}
In October 2016, Princess Haya inaugurated a hospital that is 90% staffed by women, Medcare Women & Children Hospital {Source} Like her sister-in-law, Queen Rania, she has made her mark on the fashion industry {Source} She is a regular in the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot {2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018} She has met Queen Elizabeth II on numerous occasions
