Royal Profile: Prince Joachim Karl-Maria Nikolaus Isabelle Marcus d'Aviano of Belgium, Archduke of Austria-Este

HI&RH Prince Joachim Karl-Maria Nikolaus Isabelle Marcus d'Aviano of Belgium, Archduke of Austria-Este  was born 9 December 1991 the third child of Princess Astrid of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este.

He has an older brother and sister and two younger sisters: Amedeo (1986), Maria-Laura (1988), Luisa Maria (1995) and Laetitia Maria (2003).  He is the first female-line member of the Belgian Royal Family to be born a Prince of Belgium, with succession rights to the throne: his older brother and sister, born Archduke and Archduchess of Austria, were created Prince and Princess of Belgium in December 1991, several years after their birth.

All of his grandparents and great-grandparents are royal or noble; he descends from the Austrian, Belgian, Italian, French, Swedish, Danish, British, Portuguese, Spanish and German royal families.

Like his elder siblings before him, he began his education at Sint-Jan Berchmanscollege and he also attended Malvern College. He enlisted in a volunteer army training course at the Centre for Basic Training in Arlon, Belgium in November 2010. In July 2011, he concluded his educatino ath the Nautical School in Brugge, in which resulted in that he became an officer in the Belgian Navy. He also studied at Bocconi University, from September 2011 (to presumably where he's in his final year now) to get a degree in International Economics, Management & Finance.

The young 21 year old is presently 9th in line for the throne after his uncle, four cousins, his mother and two older siblings.
