Royal Profile: Princess Alexia of The Netherlands

Princess Alexia Juliana Marcela Laurentien of The Netherlands was born on 26 June 2005, the second child of Prince Williem-Alexander of Orange and Princess Maxima of The Netherlands. She has one older sister, Princess Catharina-Amalia of The Netherlands and one younger sister, Princess Ariane of The Netherlands.

She was born in the Bronovo Hospital in The Hague. Her baptism took place on 19 November 2005 in Wassenaar. The godparents to Princess Alexia are: Princess Mathilde, Duchess of Brabant; Jonkvrouwe Alexandra Jankovich de Jeszenice; Prince Friso of Orange-Nassau; Juan Zorreguieta and Jonkheer Frans Ferdinand de Beaufort.

She was named for various relatives. Her first name is after her father (Alexander/Alexia). Her second name is for her great-grandmother, Queen Juliana, after her great-aunt, Marcela Cerruti, and her aunt Princess Laurentien.

She began school at Bloemcamp School in Wassenaar, The Netherlands in June 2009. Her sisters also attend the school {Source}.

As a distant relative of King George I of The United Kingdom (she is his 8x great granddaughter), she is distantly in line for the British Throne. She is presently 3rd in line for the Dutch throne after her father and older sister.
