Royal Profile: HRH Princess Ariane of the Netherlands
Princess Ariane of the Netherlands was born 10 April 2007, the second daughter of Williem-Alexander, Prince of Oranje and Princess Maxima of The Netherlands. She is presently fourth in line for the Dutch throne after her father and two older sisters.
She was named Ariane because her parents liked the named and it continued the pattern of the names starting with A of the Prince of Oranje's children (In her father's words: "To compelete the triple A rating" {Source}). Her middle names were Wilhelmina after her paternal great-grandmother, Maxima for her maternal great-grandmother, and Inés for her aunt and godmother.
Princess Ariane was baptized in the Abbey Church in The Hague on 20 October 2007, where he godparents included: Valeria Delger, Inés Zorreguieta, Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Tijo Baron Collot d’Escury, and Anton Friling.
When she was barley a year old, and again when she was 2 1/2 years old, she suffered several respiratory infections and was briefly hospitalized each time. The first time was on 2 May 2007, where she was hospitalized, to be released three days later after being treated for a lung infection. She was hospitalized a second time overnight in October 2009.
She is presently in her first year at Bloemcamp School in Wassenaar, The Netherlands, a school that is also attended by her older sisters.
