BREAKING: Royal Profile: Richard , 6th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg

Richard Casimir Karl August Robert Konstantin, 6th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg was born 29 October 1934 as the eldest child of Gustav, Fürst zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and Margareta Fouché {Source}. He studied forest science at the University of Göttingen and at Munich University{Source}. Prince Richard obtained his forestry diploma at Hann.-Münden {Source}.He also took his post- graduate training as Forstreferendar in North Rhine Westphalia{Source}. He obtained a degree as Assessor des Forstdienstes after passing the second forestry examination taken by the North Rhine Westphalian State Forestry Service{Source}.

He married Princess Benedikte of Denmark on 3 February 1968{Source}. When he and his wife married, his new father-in-law decreed that in order for their children to obtain succession rights they must be raised in Denmark...they were raised in Germany (however, his daughters have both obtained Danish citizenship over the years) They reside in Germany, at Berleburg Castle. Together, they have three children, and four grandchildren {Source}:

Prince Richard died suddenly on 13 March 2017 in Germany {Source}. No funeral details have been announced yet. I suspect that many, if not most of, the Danish and Greek royal families will be in attendance. The 6th Prince of Sayn-Wittengenstein-Berleburg was 82 years old.

Prince Richard's funeral will take place on 21 March 2017 at 14H00 at Evangelische Stadtkirche  in Bad Berleburg, Germany {Source}. 

It remains to be seen who will attend from the Danish Royal Family. According to the calendar, Crown Princess Mary and Prince Joachim both have conflicting events that day.
