Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, Duke of Endinburgh's Official visit to Austrailia: A Recap

Day 1 (Oct 18)

Day 2 (Oct 19)

- In the morning, The Queen met with Her Excellency Governor-General Quentin Bryce. And in the afternoon, Her Majesty visited the Floriade Flower Festival.

Day 2 (Oct 20)


-While her husband took the morning off, The Queen started her day meeting with  Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Leader of the Opposition. 

-In the evening, Prince Phillip, The Duke of Endinburgh attended  Duke of Edinburgh Award Reception, while his wife attended a reception hosted by the Prime Minister at Parliament House

Day 3 (Oct 21)


-HM Queen Elizabeth  inspects the Guard of Honour during a visit to the Australian Royal Military College where Her Majesty presented the college with new Colours (Regimental Flags), Duntroon, Canberra, Australia. View photo.

-While his wife was busy with the Guard of Honour, Prince Phillip, Duke of Endinburgh attended a brief ceremony Prince Philip presented three Duke of Edinburgh World Fellow Awards. Later in the day, Prince Phillip, The Duke of Endinburgh attended a Commonwealth Studies conference at Government House.

Day 4 (Oct 22)


-Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, Duke of Endinburgh  watched on at the Royal Military College Duntroon on October 22, 2011 in Canberra, Australia. 

Day 5 (Oct 23)


-Queen Elizabeth attended a church service in Canberra, Australia, and recieved flowers from onlookers. In addition, Queen Elizabeth attended a lunch at the Governor-General's mansion, where she spoke with race horse trainer Bart Cummings at the Governor Generals Lunch on October 23, 2011 in Canberra, Australia.

Day 6 (Oct 24)


-Queen Elizabeth boarded her plane to the next leg of her trip. Queen Elizabeth arrived at Brisbane, Australia's airport for the next leg of her trip. Later that day, The Queen met with area disaster victims.

Day 7 (Oct 25)


-Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, Duke of Endinburgh visited the tomb of the Unknown Soilder, where she laied a wreath  during a visit to the Australian War Memorial on October 25, 2011 in Canberra, Australia. Prior to leaving, the Royal Pair signed the museum's guest book.

Day 8 (Oct 26)


-Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh traveled to Melbourne, Australia, where they officially opened and toured a new children's hospital, and visited with students at Ian Potter Centre.

Day 9 (Oct 27)

-The Queen visited the  Clontarf Aboriginal college, then attended a State Reception at the Government House in Perth, Australia, with guests such as Jerry Hall and Warwick Hemsley and Benjamin Roberts-Smith and Mark Donaldson. While HM was visited Clontarf Aboriginal College, The Duke took time to visit University of Western Australia

Day 10 (Oct 28)


-The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh attended a  banquet as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). After this, the Royal pair boarded their plane back home to the United Kingdom.
