Through his paternal grandmother, he is a distant maternal relation of Queen Elizabeth II-his great grandmother was Lady Mary Cecilia Bowes-Lyon, who was a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II through her uncle,  Captain Hon. Michael Claude Hamilton Bowes-Lyon. This would make Hugo a first cousin 3x removed of Queen Elizabeth II.
