Prince Amedeo Marie Joesph Carl Pierre Philippe Paola Marcus d'Aviano of Belgium, Archduke of Austria-Este was born 21 February 1986 as the eldest son of Princess Astrid, Archduchess of Austria-Este and Prince Lorenz, Archduke of Austria-Este {Source}. He has four younger siblings{Source}:
Due to the succession laws at the time of his birth being semi-Salic succession (male-line only), he was not included in line for the Belgian Throne. However, in 1991, things changed when the Belgian courts adapted Absolute primogeniture begining with the descendents of King Albert II, he was placed in line for the throne {Source}. In 1993, when he was seven years old, he became third in line for the Belgian throne after his uncle and mother and his grandfather's ascendance to the throne. Upon his uncle's 1999 marriage and subquent birth to four children, Prince Amedo's likelihood of ever succeeding the throne have extensively been diminished. At present, he is 6th in line for the throne after four cousins and his mother.
He grew up primarily in Belgium, and spent the majority of his educational years in Belgium. He also studied in England and the United States. The vast majority of his educational career was spent attending Sint-Jan Berchmanscollege. In 2001, he was sent to Sevenoaks School in England, where he completed his primary education in 2004 {Source}. After completing his primary education, he spent a year at the Koninklijke Militaire School / École Royale Militaire (Royal Military Academy) of Belgium. In September 2005, he returned to England to study at London School of Economics, where he graduated in 2008 {Source}. After graduation, he moved to the United States, where he spent several years working for Deloitte {Source}. In 2012, he began an MBA program {Source}.

Prince Amedeo completed military service and is a reserve officer in the Belgian Army.
As he is so distantly in line for the Belgian throne, not too much was known about the young prince's private life. However, on 15 February 2014 the Belgian Royal Court announced that he was engaged to Italian Nobile Elisabetta "Lili" Maria Rosboch von Wilkenstein after five years of dating {Source}.
