Princess Désirée Margarethe Victoria Louise Sibylla Katharina Maria of Hohenzollern was born 27 November 1963 as the only daughter and middle child of Princess Birgitta of Sweden, Princess of Hohenzollern and Prince Johann Georg of Hohenzollern {Source}. She has two brothers, two sisters-in-law, two nephews and a niece {Source}:

Princess Désirée married HIH Heinrich Franz Josef Georg Maria, Count of Ortenburg on 6 October 1990{Source}. Together, they have three children{Source}:

  • Friedrich-Hubertus Graf von Ortonburg (1995)
  • Carolina Gräfin von Ortonburg (1997)
The only daughter of  Princess Birgitta and Prince Johann Georg of Hohenzollern would later divorce Count Heinrich and marry Eckbert von Bohlen und Halbach in 2004{Source}. They have no children.


Princess Désirée is the maternal niece of King Carl XVI Gustaf, and occassionally attends family parties, wedding and christenings in Sweden.
