Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands embarked on a three-day state visit to Luxembourg on Tuesday.


Day 1 (March 20)



Upon her arrival, she was greeted by the Grand Duke & Grand Duchess of Luxembourg in a welcoming ceremony where both countries national anthem's were played. After the welcoming ceremony, the Queen met with local dignataries. Afterward, she, along with the Grand Ducal couple, along with their heir apparent, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, attended a private luncheon in the Grand Ducal Palace. After the luncheon, Queen Beatrix participated in a wreath laying ceremony held at the Monument National de la Solidarité Luxembourgeoise. Later that same day, she returned to the Grand Ducal Palace to meet with dignitaries before participating in a round table entitled "Strengthening Business Climate in Europe", in the presence of both Dutch and Luxembourg officials along with Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume. In the evening, she attended a state dinner at the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg hosted by the Grand Ducal couple and attended by Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume.{Photos} {Video}

Day 2 (March 21)




Queen Beatrix visited the satellite control center of satellite operator SES Astra in Luxembourg. While there, she attended a presentation by officials. She, along with local officials and Grand Duke Henri, rode a train together. She, along with the Grand Duke & Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, also attended a ceremony at Chateau de Bourglinster {Photos} {Video} {Video}.

Day 3 (March 22)


Queen Beatix, accompanied by Grand Duke Henri, reviewed the Luxembourg's Guard of Honor during a farewell ceremony for Her Majesty. She also visited Luxembourg University {Photos}.
