Princess Maria Beatrice Elena Margerita Ludovica Caterina Francesca of Savoy was born 2 February 1944) is the youngest daughter of Italy's last King, Umberto II of Italy and Queen Marie José of Italy {Source}. When she was three years old, her father ruled Italy as Umberto II for slightly over a month, from 9 May 1946 to 12 June 1946 before the family was forced into exile. Her father remained in Portugal, while she, her mother and siblings traveled to Switzerland during WWII.

She has not been without controversy. In 1967, she attempted to marry Italian actor Maurizo Arena, but her family filed a lawsuit claiming that she was mentally unfit to marry, which was later dropped when the couple parted a year later {Source}. The young princess, known as Titti, married Luis Rafael Reyna-Corvalán y Dillon on 1 April 1970 in Mexico in a civil ceremony, later marrying religiously in Spain in 1971 {Source}. After twenty-four years of marriage, they were separated and later divorced {Source}. Together, they have three children, and two granddaughters:
