Royal Profile: Leah Behn

Leah Isadora Behn was born 8 April 2005 as the second of three daughters of Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and husband Ari Behn at her mother's summer home, Bloksbjerg at Hankø island, Fredrikstad, Norway{Source}. She has two sisters{Source}:

  • Maud Angelica Behn (2003)
  • Emma Tallulah Behn (2008)

As a granddaughter of King Harald V and Queen Sonja, she is 6th in line for the throne of Norway, after her uncle, two cousins, mother and older sister. She is also distantly in succession for the British throne {Source}.


At her baptism, her parents confessed that she was named after the Star Wars character, Princess Leia, of which her mother is a big fan of, and after American dancer Isadora Duncan{Source}. Her godparents are{Source}{Photo}:

Until the family's move to London Leah was a student at Bærum Waldorf School in Bærum, Norway. Upon the family's move to London in 2012, she began attending a Waldorf school there. She is now back in Norway. Her parents are undergoing a divorce, in which they will share custody of Leah and her sisters {Source}

Unlike her cousins, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sevrre Magunus, she and her sisters are not titled as titles come from the male line and their royal lineage comes from the female line.


She has attended her fair share of events since her birth. In 2007, she attended the re-marriage of her paternal grandparents and her maternal grandparents' 70th birthday celebrations {Photos}. In 2011, she attended the funeral of her paternal great grandmother {Photos}. In 2012, she attended the 75th birthday celebrations of her maternal grandparents {Photos}. In 2013, she attended the Norwegian National Day Celebrations in London with her family {Photos}. In 2014, she and her family were again spotted at the London Norway National Day Celebrations {Photos}. In 2016, she took part in the celebrations for her maternal grandparent's 80th birthdays and their 25th anniversary of their succession {Photos}.


She shares a birthday with Princess Badiya bint Al-Hamzah of Jordan.
