Royal Profile: Dimitri Rassam

Dimitri Rassam was born 16 November 1981 as the only son of Carole Bouquet and film producer Jean-Pierre Rassam {Source}. His father died when he was four years old, through his mother he has a younger half-brother, and sister-in-law {Source}:

Rassam finished secondary school at École Active Bilingue with a Bac scientifique, then prepped at Sciences Po {Source}. He began work on a business degree at HEC Paris, but changed course to earn a degree in history (from the Sorbonne) instead {Source}.



Dimitri founded his production company Chapter 2 at the age of 23 in 2006{Source}. His first film was directed by Nicolas Bury and Jérôme Fansten, Judas {Source}. In 2014, his company merged with Alexis Vonarb's Onyx Films and Aton Soumache's Method Animation to form ON Entertainment {Source}. Some other film credits include Kung Fu Panda, and The Little Prince.


He has been married twice. His first marriage was to Masha Novoselova, from 2010-2016 {Source}. With Novoselova, he has a daughter:

The pair separated in 2016, and were later divorced. He began dating Charlotte Casiraghi in 2016. In March 2018, they were reportedly engaged, with a pending wedding that summer that didn't happen due to Charlotte's pregnancy. Charlotte gave birth to their son, Balthazar Casiraghi-Rassam, in October 2018 {Source}. In April 2019, after his mother attended Monaco's annual Rose Ball, rumors began to spread again that a wedding was in the works. Sure enough, two months later, they were wed in a civil ceremony in Monaco, followed by a religious ceremony in St. Remy-de-Provence{Source}. This marriage brought together the Casiraghi/Grimali and Rassam families, and together they have three children:
  1. Darya Novoselova-Rassam (2011, Dimitri's daughter from his first marriage)
  2. Raphaël Casiraghi Elmaleh(2013, Charlotte's son with Gad Elmaleh)
  3. Balthazar Casiraghi-Rassam (2018, their son together)

The couple and their children divided their time between Paris, Monaco, and Los Angeles {Source}
