Royal Profile: Princess Lalla Hasna of Morocco

Princess Lalla Hasna of Morocco was born 19 November 1967as  the youngest daughter of King Hassan II and his second wife, Lalla Latifa Hammou. She has two older brothers, two older sisters, several siblings-in-law, nieces, and nephews:

She was educated at the Royal College of Rabat.

From an early age she took an interest in social and cultural activies, especially leading to environmental issues.  She launched her own national campaign and Prize to protect Morocco's beaches.  In 2001, The Mohammed VI Foundation For the Protection of the Environment was created. She presides over its governing body and pays frequent visits to various places and organizations regarding environmental issues. The next year, she founded a prize for young environmental reporters, which was first awarded in 2003 on International Environment Day, and has been awarded since. She also serves as Honorary President of the Hassanate Association for Human Development {Source}. She has been awarded several prizes for her efforts including national honors from Morroco, Spain, Belgium and Mexico{Source}. In 2018, she was a recipient of GOI Peace International Award and an Honorary Doctorate in Sustainable Development from Ritsumeikan University {Source}.

She married in   Dr. Khalil Benharbit on 13 December 1991 and they have two daughters {Source}:
