Royal Profile: The Lady Davina Elizabeth Alice Benedikte Lewis

The Lady Davina Elizabeth Alice Benedikte Lewis is the oldest daughter of Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester and Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester{Source}. She is first cousin once removed to Queen Elizabeth II.

She was born at St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London, England on 19 November 1977. She was the second child of the Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester and Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester. At the time of her birth, she was 11th in line for the throne after her brother, she is now 25th after the birth of several cousins  and her niece and nephew.

She grew up with her parents and two siblings in an apartment in Kensington Palace. She attended Kensington Preparatory School in Notting Hill, followed by St. George's School, Ascot. She is a graduate of the University of the West of England, where she studied Media Studies.

During a vacation in Bali, she met and fell in love with New Zealander carpenter and a surfing enthusiast, Gary Lewis. After a four year courtship, the pair married in a small ceremony at the chapel at Kensington Palace on 31 July 2004, of which the only members of the Royal Family that were present were her parents. It was on this day that Davina became a stepmother to Lewis's son, Ari Lewis, whom which was from a previous relationship. Together, they have two children:

She, her husband and their young family present live in her husband's native New Zealand, away from the craziness of Royal life and rarely perform public duties. However, she and her family are invited to family events, such as weddings (they attended THE Royal Wedding of 2011), funerals (Seen here in 2005 at Princess Alice's funeral), and other low-key events such as the Gatcombe Horse Trials (2012). In 2005, they were invited to attend the Queen's reception for members of the New Zealand All Blacks {Source}. Other than this, they tend to live fairly normal lives.
