Royal Profile: Princess Joesphine of Denmark
Princess Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda of Denmark, Countess of Monpezat was born on 8 January 2011 at Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital) as the youngest child and daughter of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary {Source}.
Due to the 2008 Succession Act, which made Denmark's monarchy an absolute primogeniture monarchy (absolute primogeniture=boys and girls have equal rights to the throne and younger brothers do not displace older sisters), if the Crown Princely couple were to have another child, and it were to be a boy, he would not displace Joesphine or Isabella.
It is likely that she will begin her education as her elder siblings did before her, she will likely attend nursery school and Tranegårdsskolen.
She was christened in April 2011, with the following as her godparents{Source}:
- Princess Marie of Denmark (paternal aunt)
- Patrica Bailey (maternal aunt)
- Prince Carlo, Duke of Castro
- Count Bendt Wedell
- Brgitte Handwerk
- Josephine Rechner (friend of her mother's)
