Princess Ashi Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck was born 10 January 1980 as the daugher of the 4th King of Bhutan, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, and his 3rd wife, Ashi Tshering Pem Wangchuck{Source}. She is the elder half sister to the 5th King of Bhutan{Source}.
Like her other siblings and half-siblings, she has an extensive educational background. She studied at Wellesley College in the United States, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and Economics, and earned a masters degree in public administration from Columbia University {Source}. She has expressed an interest in working with youth{Source}.
She was marred to Dasho Sangay Wangchuck on 13 October 2005{Source}. Presently, her husband is completing a master's degree in public administration and global affairs at Columbia University
