His duchary was previously held by his great x2 grandfather, King Gustaf VI Adolf, who HIS grandfather succeeded the throne from in 1973. Prince Oscar is currently 3rd in succession for the throne. He is the second grandson and fourth grandchild for the King and Queen of Sweden.
