He was educated in Jordan and England. He attended local elementary schools before attending Harrow School and the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst in England {Source}. During his time at Sandhurst, he earned a number of prizes including the Sandhurst Overseas Sword, and The HRH Prince Saud Abdullah Prize {Source}.
He served in the Jordanian Arab Army's 40th Armored Brigade, and attended a number of miltary attachments and courses in Jordan, The UK, Poland, Germany and the United States {Source}. Currently, he holds the rank of Colonel in the Jordan Arab Army {Source}. The 36 year old has acted for his elder half brother on several occasions in both Jordan and abroad {Source}. He is chair of the Royal Advisory Committee on the Energy Sector, Honorary President of the Jordanian Basketball Federation, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Automobile Museum, President of the Royal Aero Sports Club of Jordan and President of Al-Shjarah (tree) Protection Society {Source}.
Upon his father's death in 1999, his elder haf-brother succeeded their father. At this time, his brother named Prince Hamzah is Crown Prince {Source}. Prince Hamzah bin Al Hussein of Jordan has been married twice. He was married to Princess Noor bint Asem bin Nayef from 2003-2009. He married Princess Basmah biani Ahamad on 12 January 2012. With his two wives, he has three daughters:
