Royal Profile: Princess Badiya bint El Hassan of Jordan

Princess Badiya bint El Hassan of Jordan was born 28 March 1974 as the daughter of Prince El-Hassan bin Talaal and his wife, Princess Sarvath El Hassan. She is a first cousin of Jordan's present King.


She began her education at Amman Baccalaureate School, before moving to England to continue her education at Sherborne School for Girls, Oxford University (where she earned a BA in History) and London School of Economics (earning a LL.M in International Law).


The Princess is a member of and has collaborated with various international organizations. Her work focuses on promoting interfaith and cross-cultural understanding, human rights and the rights of asylum seekers and refugees. She is presently the Chairman of Mosaic, a mentoring program founded by Prince Charles. She married Khaled Edward Blair in 2008.
