Royal Profile: Alexander Patrick Gregers Richard Windsor, Earl of Ulster

Alexander Patrick Gregers Richard Windsor, Earl of Ulster was born 24 October 1974, the only son of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester {Source}. He has two sisters, Lady Davinia & Lady Rose{Source}.

At four months old, he was baptised {Source} with Prince Charles of Wales among his godparents.

He was educated at Eton College, King's College, London, and Sandhurst Military Academy {Source}.

In 1998, he became a 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the King's Royal Hussars {Source}, and was promoted to captain in 2002 {Source}. He also fought in the campaign in Kosovo in 2002 {Source}. In January 2003, he transferred from a short service commission to an Intermediate Regular Commission {Source}. In April 2008, he was appointed to the Reserve of Officers, and he went into retirement from the British Army as an Acting Major {Source}. After leaving the army, he became Director of the Transitional Crisis Project, as Alex Ulster {Source}.

On 22 June 2002, he married Dr. Claire Booth {Source}.Together, they have two children {Source}:
He and his children are in line for the British Throne (#23-25 respectively). He and his son are also the first two in line for succession for the Dukedom of Gloucester.
