Royal Profile: Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan
Queen Jetsun Pema was born 4 June 1990, the granddaughter of a Governor of Trashigang. She is the second eldest of five children, she has two brothers and two sisters {Source}.
Her primary education took place at The Little Dragon School, The Sunshine School and the Changangkha Lower Secondary School. In the late 1990s, the future Queen attended St. Joesph's Convent in India. She also attended the Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School before finally attending the Lawrence School, where she completed her education in March 2008{Source}{Source}. She studied International Relations, psychology and Art History at Regent's College, London {Source}.
During May 2011's opening of Parliment's 7th session, King Jigme Khesar announced his engagement to Justsun Pema. They were married on 13 October 2011. Since their marriage, the new Queen has joined her husband on several abroad trips to India {Source}, Singapore{Source}, Japan {Source}, and The UK{Source}, as well as throughout their own country.
