Royal Profile: Princess Ashi Sonam Dechen Wangchuck of Bhutan
Princess Ashi Sonam Dechan Wangchuck of Bhutan was born 5 August 1981 as the daughter of King Jigme Sngye Wangchuck of Bhutan and Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. She is a half sister of the current king.
Like her siblings, her education is international. She primarially studied in Bhutan before going to Stanford University, where she earned a degree in International Relations before attending Harvard Law School, earning a masters degree in Law.
After graduation, she acted as a clearl for the Royal High Court of Bhutan, and current works at the Judiciary of the Kingdom of Bhutan as President of the Bhutan National Legal Institute.
She married Dasho Phub W. Dorji at the Mothithang Palace on 5 April 2009.
