She studied the International Baccalaureate at the United World College of the Atlantic and received her master's degree in Japanese and International Relations at Edinburgh University{Source}.She studied for a year at Ritsumeikan University in Japan{Source}.

She currently works in Japan. Princess Raiyah is an avid fan and skilled player of polo, as well as a practitioner of several martial arts including kendo and aikido {Source}. Her father died when she was almost 12 years old (two days shy of her birthday in fact).
