Royal Profile: King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain
King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was born on 28 January 1950 as the son of Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, then Crown Prince, and Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa {Source}.
At the age of 14, he was designated as Crown Prince of Bahrain by his father.
He was educated early on in Bahrain, before being sent to England to complete his compulsory education before moving on to college in England and the United States. He attended Manama secondary school in Bahrain, Applegarth College in England. After graduating Applegarth, he attended The Leys School, British Army at Mons Officer Cadet School, and the United States Army Command and General Staff College
He maintains a good releationship with the British Royal Family. He was invited to the Wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but chose not to attend due to human rights activist protesters.
He has four wives and twelve children:
