Isabel Inês de Herédia, The Duchess of Braganza was born 22 November 1966 as the daughter of D. Jorge de Heredia and Dª Raquel Leonor Pinheiro Curvelo {Source}.

She spent her early educational years at the Colégio das Doroteias {Source}. After her family's 1976 move to Brazil, she began studying at S.Paulo, no Colégio de S. Luís, da Companhia de Jesus, graduating in 1988{Source}. From there, she attended the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, where she studied Business Administration, graduating in 1990 {Source}. On May 13, 1995, she married Duarte, Duke of Braganza{Source}. Together, they have three children{Source}:
