Royal Profile: Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway

Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway was born on 21 January 2004 the elder of the two children of The Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Norway {Source}. She has two brothers, one is a half-maternal brother and the other is a full brother {Source}:




On 17 April 2004, she was christened with the following as her godparents{Source}:

  • The King of Norway (paternal grandfather)
  • Princess Märtha Louise of Norway (paternal aunt)
  • Marit Tjessem (maternal grandmother)
  • Crown Prince Fredrik of Denmark (close friend of her parents who is also a distant cousin)
  • Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden (close friend of her parents who is also a distant cousin)
  • King Felipe VI of Spain (close friend of her parents, who is also distantly related, who was then The Prince of Asturias)
She was confirmed in the Church of Norway in August 2019{Source}


Just before her second birthday, she began attending a day-care centre {Source}. At the age of 6 years and 8 months, she began attending Jansløkka elementary school, which she attended until 2014{Source}. In the 2014-2015 school year, she was transferred to Olso International School, where she attended for four years{Source}. In 2019, it was revealed she started attending  Uranienborg school {Source}.


Even at her young age, she has already participated in several official duties{Source}. She normally joins other members of the Royal Family on the balcony of the Palace to greet the annual children’s parade on 17 May, Norwegian Constitution Day{Source}. She has also attended the traditional ski jumping tournament at Holmenkollen in Oslo{Source}. On the eve of her 12th birthday, new photographs were released to commemorate the event {Source}. In 2016, she participated in many events regarding her grandparents succession anniversary, National Day, the Youth Olympics Festival, and the opening of The Princess Ingrid Alexandra Sculpture Park {Photos}. On the eve of her 13th birthday, new photographs were released to celebrate the occasion {Photos}. In 2017, she joined her parents and younger brother for the awards ceremony of the Alpine skiing, World Championships, Downhill, Men, attended her grandparents' 80th birthday celebrations, joined her family for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, attended National Day ceremonies, joined her family for her grandmother's 80th birthday celebrations, joined her grandmother and mother for the  unveiling of new statues at the Princess Ingrid Alexandra sculpture park at the Palace park. In 2018, she marked her 14th birthday with a winter photo shoot, attended a visit with The Duke and Duchess of CambridgeNational Day celebrations, joined her grandmother for the unveiling of new statues at The Princess Alexandra Sculpture Park, joined her parents and brother for a photo shoot to celebrate her father's 45th birthday, joined her family to celebrate her grandparents' golden wedding anniversary and attended a Royal Family Christmas Photo call. In 2019, new portraits of the future Queen of Norway were released to mark her 15th birthday, joined the family for National Day celebrations,  joined her parents and brother for a photo shoot to celebrate her father's 46th birthday, celebrated her confirmation with the Church of Norway, joined her grandmother for the final installation of sculptures at the Princess Ingrid Alexandra Sculpture Park, and attended a family Christmas photo call

She has appeared to have gotten braces in 2016, and they were off by 2018 {Source}{Photo}
