The Prince of Oranje and Princess Maxima of The Netherlands visit Brazil

Nov 19 (Day 1)

The future Monarch & his wife attended meeting with Secretary of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC),Minister of Agriculture, The Head of Cabinet of President, and The Minister of Finance.

For lunch they attended a meeting with representatives from  National Industry Confederation (CNI) counterpart VNO-NCW and SEBRAE equivalent of SME Netherlands. Signing of a joint statement between CNI and VNO-NCW/MKB-Nederland. After lunch, they paid a visit to CAPES

Afterward, they met with the Deputy Minister of Education and attended a seminar on the Brazilian program for foreign scholarships, where the Princess gave a speech.

Nov 20 (Day 2)

Today, the future Dutch King and his consort attened a seminar entitled Future of Food Business  at the University of São Paulo {Photos}.

Afterward, they visited the Dutch company CRV Lagoa and attended a meeting {Photos}.

Nov 21 (Day 3)

In the morning, the future Dutch Monarch and his wife went there separate ways only to rejoin one another in the afternoon.

The Princess visited the manufacturing facility in the city of Piracicaba, Brazil Paques {Photos}. Afterward, she opened the “... production house of Paques Brazil. Paques is a Dutch SME and company which is active worldwide in the development and construction of cost-effective water and gas purification systems.”

Meanwhile, Prince Willem-Alexander  visited an exhibition entitled, Waste to Waste, and attended the signing of a “... memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the NL Agency and the Environment Agency of the State of São Paulo" and gave a speech during the Brazilian-Dutch Science & Technology Seminar entitled, Bio-based Economy {Photos}. He also attended the opening of the establishment of an office of BE-Basic (Bio-based Ecologically Balanced Sustainable Industrial Chemistry) in Campinas.

In the  afternoon, the royal couple met with the Governor of São Paulo, attended the opening of the exhibition entitled,Connecting Concepts, and attended a reception with Dutch and Brazilian businesses {Photos}{Photos}

Nov 22 (Day 4)

 After taking a ride from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janerio in the morning, the future Dutch Monarch and his wife began their busy day. The Prince began the day with a visit to "Waste to Waste 'on waste management and attends the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the NL Agency and the Environment Agency of the State of São Paulo, before making a speech to the entrepreneurs association of the industry of the state of  São Paulo (FIESP), completing the Brazilian-Dutch Science & Technology Seminar: 'Biobased Economy'. He then attended various signatures, and the opening of the establishment of an office of BE-Basic (Biobased Ecologically Balanced Sustainable Industrial Chemistry) in Campinas and similarities between Dutch universities and institutes with Brazilian partners to promote cooperation in the field of research and innovation.

At Lunch time, he met with representatives of the Brazilian industry.

Meanwhile, Princess Maxima opened Paques Brazil in the city of Piracicaba.Paques.

Afterward, the royal pair regrouped to meet with the Governor of São Paulo, where they attended the signing of a memorandum of the Undstanding between the State of  São Paulo and the Anne Frank House as a start of a long-term educational project that contributes to a safer learning environment in secondary schools, signing of an MoU between the Ministry of Education and the Secretariat for Education of São Paulo in the area of vocational, technical and language training to improve the quality of education to improve public schools and language centers.

The Prince & Princess then opened  the exhibition "Connecting Concepts". The exhibition designs of Dutch designers show, as well as designs of Brazilian designers. After they attended a Network reception for Dutch and Brazilian businesses to come into contact with each other. 

Nov 23 (Day 5)


Attending a seminar on yacht which Dutch yacht builders present their expertise;
Visit to Petrobras, conversation including the president of Petrobras. The organization is one of the largest oil companies in the world. The discussion focuses more on presentation of Dutch suppliers. Signing of an MoU with Atradius.

The Royal pair  attended a seminar with Dutch yacht builders and met with the president of Pertobras {Photos}.
