King Carl XVI Gustaf & Queen Silvia of Sweden visit Croita

Day 1 (April 16)

King Carl XVI & Queen Silvia arrived to Croatia where they were welcomed by the President and First Lady {Photos}. That afternoon, the King and his delegation met with the President and his delegation "...held a bilateral meeting..."{Source}, while their wives visited Croiatian State Archives, where  they toured the library and the conservation and restoration laboratory {Source}. Afterward, the King attended a working lunch with Speaker Josip Leko  {Source}.

They also attend a meeting with the Prime Minister and his wife {Source} before heading over to the  {Source}Meštrović Museum for the opening of the Meštrović — Milles exhibition{Source}, where they attended the opening ceremony and toured of the exhibit, and attended a reception {Source}. After the visit to the museum, they concluded their day with a dinner ath the Presidential Palace {Source}

Day 2 (April 17)

They started their second day in Croita with a meeting with their business delegation{Source}. Afterward, they visited the University of Zagreb, where they toured classrooms and spoke with students {Source}.

After leaving the university, they immediately went to visit Ericsson Nikola Tesla {Source}. Then it was time for lunch with their business delegation and representatives from Croatian businesses which was hosted by Croatian Employers' Association and Business Sweden {Source}.


In the afternoon, the Swedish monarch and consort met back up with the President and First Lady for a busy afternoon of separate activities {Source}. The Queen and First Lady visited  the Silver Rehabilitation Centre,  while their husbands attended a seminar entitled "Croatia, the new EU Market — How can Sweden be a Business Partner?" {Source}. After the seminar, the King accompanied the Minister for Foreign Affairs to a visit to the family-run DOK-ING {Source}.

At the end of the day, the King and Queen hosted a reception and concert by Elin Rombo,  for the Croatian Presidential couple  {Source}.

Day 3 (April 18)

On their final day in Croatia, the Queen and King continued to be very busy. Their first stop was to the town of Zadar, to meet with the mayor and other local officials {Photos}. After the meeting, they took a tour of the city and visited a museum {Photos}. After their tour and museum visit, they attend a luncheon in their honor and visited an organic farm and vineyard in Nedin
