Royal Profile: Infante Carlos María Alfonso Marcelo de Borbón-Dos Sicilias y de Borbón-Parma of Spain, Prince of the Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria
Infante Carlos María Alfonso Marcelo de Borbón-Dos Sicilias y de Borbón-Parma of Spain, Prince of the Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria was born 16 January 1938 as the second child and only son of Don Alfonso of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria (1901–1964) and Princess Alicia of Bourbon-Parma {Source}. He had two sisters, two brother-in-laws, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews{Source}:
Infante Carlos was created an Infante of Spain by his second cousin, King Juan Carlos by royal degree 2412 in December 1994 as the "Representative of a line linked historically to the Spanish Crown" {Source}.
He also held several civic positions. He was Dean-President of the Royal Council of Military Orders of Santiago, Calatrava, Alcántara and Montesa and was Grand Master of the Hispano-Neapolitan branch of
the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, Grand Master of the Order of Saint Januarius, Grand Commander of the Military Order of Alcántara, Protector of the Real Cuerpo de la Nobleza of Madrid, Maestrante of Sevilla, Zaragoza, Granada, Valencia and Ronda,{Source}.Member of the Real Cuerpo de la Nobleza of Catalonia, Member of the Cofradía del Santo Cáliz of Valencia, and Patron-President of the Foundation of the Military Order's Hospital of Santiago de Cuenca (Patrono-Presidente de la Fundación de las Ordenes Militares Hospital de Santiago de Cuenca). On 25 February 1964, he was appointed a knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece of which he was the doyen{Source}. He was also decorated with the Grand Cross of the Spanish Orders of Military Merit with White Distinction, of Naval Merit and of Agricultural Merit, the Grand Cross of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, and received the Banda of the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle among other Orders.

He is one of the claimants of the Head of he Royal House of Two Sicilles, the other is his second cousin, The Duke of Castro. With his death, his title goes to his only son, Prince Pedro of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Noto. Infante Carlos is also one of three claimants of the Grand Magistery of the Sacred Miltary Constantinian Order of St. George, along with Prince Carlos of Bourbon-Parma and The Duke of Castro. The "battle" for the claimaints of these thing now goes to their sons-Prince Pedro, Prince Carlos and Prince Carlos, The Duke of Castro. It all depends on which story you believe to be true as to whom the ture claimants are.

He was born in Switzerland, but when he was a year old, the family relocated to Spain. When he was 10 years old, he and his distant cousin, King Juan Carlos I where chosen by Juan Carlos's father to enter a special school that the Count and dictator Francisco Franco had prepared for the heir of the crown.
Upon completing his education, he became a Spanish business man. He owned properties in Toledo and Ciudad Real as well as shares in important Spanish companies like Reposol and Telefonica.

Infante Carlos of Spain, Prince of the Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria died on 5 October 2015 after a lengthy illness {Source}. No funeral arrangements have been announced. It is expected that the Spanish royal family, members of the Greek Royal Family, The Duke of Castro, and members of the Bulgarian Royal Family will be in attendance to his funeral.
