Royal Profile: Princess Anita of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven

Anita Theodora van Eijk aka Princess Anita  of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven was born on 27 October 1969 as the second daughter of Leonardus van Eijk and J.C.M. van Eijk-Steens {Source}.

She studied in The Netherlands, and Singapore. She earned an international baccalaureate from Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest {Source}. She attended the United World College of South East Asia in Singapore {Source}. In 1996, she earned a degree in the direction of communication studies from the Univeristy of Amsterdam  {Source}.

She married Prince Pieter-Christiaan Michiel of Oranje-Nassau,van Vollenhoven  on 25 August 2005  in a civil marriage, and on 27 August 2005 in a religious ceremony{Source}. Together, they have two children{Source}:
  1. Emma Francisca Catharina van Vollenhoven (2006)
  2. Pieter Anton Maurits Erik van Vollenhoven (2008)

Princess Anita works as an independent entrepreneur {Source}. In 1997, she joined Bloomberg in Amsterdam and London {Source}. She has also worked in various marketing and management positions {Source}.  Princess Antia's husband lost his place in succession and rights to the throne when Princess Beatrix abdiated in 2013, so it is likely that Anita, her husband and children lead fairly normal lives, with the occasional royal family event (christenings, weddings, funerals) thrown in.
