Royal Profile: The Infanta Maria Francisca of Portugal, The Duchess of Coimbra

The Infanta Maria Francisca Isabel Micaela Gabriela Rafaela Paula de Herédia de Bragança, The Duchess of Coimbra was born 3 March 1997 as the only daughter of The Duke & Duchess of Braganza {Source}.
She is presently 3rd in line for the deposed throne of Portugal after her father and brothers.

She was baptized in June 1997 at Vila Viçosa in the Church of the Immaculate Conception {Source}.
Her godparents are
  • Infante D. Henrique, Duke of Coimbra (paternal uncle)
  • Princess Marie of Liechtenstein (second cousin)
At the age of 10, she was torn between becoming a doctor or bull fighter {Source}.She is also said to enjoy music, poetry and theatre {Source}. In 2008, at the age of 11, she made her public debut with her parents and younger brothers at a Dinner of the Conjured{Source}. For her 18th birthday in 2015, her family released , new portraits of her {Photos}. On the feast day of St. Elizabeth of Portugal, 4 July 2018, her father granted her the title The Duchess of Coimbra, a title previously held by her uncle, Infante Henrique, who died in 2017 {Source}. Also at this time, she was named Dame of the Order of St. Isabelle by her mother {Source}. The Duchess of Coimbra is currently studying Social and Cultural Communication in the Catholic University of Portugal {Source}.
