Bernardo Federico Tomás Guillermo was born 21 June 1977 as the son of Princess M. Christina of The Netherlands and Jorg Perez y Guillermo {Source}. He has two younger siblings:

Berandro grew up in The Netherlands, earning his VWO diploma at Rijnlands Lyceum. Upon earning his VWO, he moved to New York, where he attended Sarah Lawrence College, studying philosophy and art history, earning a degree in 2000. After getting his bachelor's degree, he attended the Pratt Institute, where he earned a masters degree in industrial design.
He opened his own industrial design studio in Brooklyn, NY in 2006. The year before, his work was selected for the Brooklyn Designs exhibition. In 2008, he was selected to take part in the DWR Modern-Design-Function exhibition. Some examples of his work were published in the magazine Wallpaper in May 2005.
