After years of growing up around horses and watching her parents breed them, the young princess decided it was her turn. In 1994, at the age of 19, she began training with "Flyinge" and a trainer named Kyra Kyrklund in dressage. After four years of training, she won the Bronze medal at the European Championships with the Danish Dressage Team. Shortly after her win at the European Championships, Kyrklund moved to England, thus leaving the niece of the Queen of Denmark without a trainer. The young princess bounced back quickly though, and began training with German Klaus Balkenhol. In 2000, she gained a place as a reserve rider on the Danish Dressage Team for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. In 2001 she found herself wining a bronze medal at the European Championships of 2001. In 2002, she participated with the Danish Dressage team in the World Championships, where she placed 4th. In 2008, she returned to the Olympics, and won a bronze medal for Denmark. In the 2012 Olympics, she was part of the Danish Equestrian team, where she finished 12th for her events and helped the team ease their way into 4th place overall. In 2005, she opened her own stud farm.
