The Recap of The Royals You Love:Nov 21-27


-Princess Mathilde was in Eupen and Transinne, Belgium to meet with students from two elementary schools participating in the Journée du Changement (Day of Change) proposed by UNICEF Belgium as part of Journée des Droits de l’Enfant (Day of the Rights of a Child) campaign. She spoke with students about the importance of education, among other topics(photo/video). On Thursday, Belgium's future Queen participated in a meeting regarding human trafficking in Liege, Belgium.

-Princess Astrid, Archduchess of Austria-Este attended a medical and scientific research awards ceremony managed by the King Baudouin Foundation on Thursday.


- King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck & Queen Jetsun Pema visited London, England, where they met with Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall at the Clarence House on Wednesday.


-Crown Prince Fredrick visited the Royal Australian Navy Special Forces (RANSF) in Sydney,  he received a briefing prior to participating in a “…boat ride with members from the 2nd Commando Regiment in Sydney Harbor”, tried on some cool clothes, and mingled with the men and women of the Australian Navy. On Wednesday, the Crown Prince attended the opening of the conference, State of Green: Join the Future. Think Denmark, held at the Hotel Sofitel in Melbourne where he gave a speech.

-Crown Princess Mary visited the Westmead Cancer Centre Monday and along with her husband, Crown Prince Fredrick, participated in a meeting with the Governor of the State of New South Wales,Her Excellency Prof. Marie Bashir, and His Excellency Sir Nicholas Shehadie held at the Government House. -Prince Henrik & Prince Joachim  hosted the annual royal hunt at Grib Forest on Tuesday. Also joining them were Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, Prince Gustav of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, Prince Georg Friedrich & Princess Sophie of Prussia, and Baron Otto Reedtz-Thott.

-Princess Benedikte attended the opening of the Christmas Fair held at the Swedish Gustaf Church in Copenhagen, Denmark. While there, the Princess was greeted by organizers of the fair, mingled amongst the merchants and sampled some of the goods that were being offered. Photos

Great Britian

-Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh officially welcomed the President of Turkey, Abdullah Gül, and his wife Hayrunnisa, with a traditional ceremony in London, England. Video, Gallery 1, Gallery 2 On Tuesday, they hosted a banquet in his honor and the queen gave a speech.

-Prince Phillip, Duke of Endinbugh was appointed Lord High Admirial of the Navy at Admiralty House in London, England to mark his 90th birthday. {source} Video/Photos

-Charles, Prince of Wales toured an area of Abertillery, Wales on Monday. The Prince toured the …Guardian of the Valleys memorial statue, in tribute to the 45 souls who lost their lives in the Gleision mining tragedy in the 1960s, before officially opening the community centre in Abertillery. The Prince also met with the President of Turkey, Mr. Abdullah Gül, at Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Tuesday.

-Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall stepped in as a "guest judge" on the British dancing competition show, Strictly Come Dancing when she toured the BBC studios where the show is taped this week and saw the group rehearsing {Source}.

-Prince William, Duke of Cambridge: was part of a team that helped save two sailors after their cargo ship  sunk off the Irish Sea {Source and more info}.

-Princess Beatrice of York and her longtime boyfriend Dave Clark were spotted watching  the Rafael Nadal vs. Roger Federer match at the O2 Arena in London on Tuesday.

-Zara Phillips: It was announced that the policing for her July 2011 nuputials cost the UK Taxpayers roughly £400,000 over the three day affair for the management and protection of thirteen members of the British Royal Family (Queen Elizabeth, Prince Phillip, The Earl & Countess of Wessex, The Duke of York and his two daughters, The Duke & Duchess of Rothesay, Anne, The Princess Royal, Timothy Laurance, The Earl & Countess of Strathearn){Source}


-Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa visited  l’Atert-Lycée Redange in Luxembourg on Monday, where they toured the school's grounds, met with students and faculty, and ate lunch in the cafeteria.

-Grand Duchess Maria Teresa participated in the Développement et Promotion de l’Economie Solidaire au Service du Développement Durable à Luxembourg conference on Thursday, where she gave a speech on Thursday. Also on Thursday, the Grand Duchess attended the 2011 Edward Steichen Award Ceremony.

-Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume  along with the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mr. Jeannot Krecké were in United Arab Emirates and Qatar, where they are a trade mission.

-Princess Elisabeth, aunt of the present Grand Duke, died this on Tuesday {source}. Funeral arrangements were annouced as follows: On December 15th, there will be a mass held at Église Saint Michel. She will be buried in the family vault of the Artstetten castle that belongs to the family of Princess Elisabeth's late husband Duke Franz of Hohenberg. Princess Elisabeth died at the Château de Fischbach where she lived with her brother Grand Duke Jean for the last couple of months. Before she died, she was in frail health as she had suffered a stroke sometime last year. {Source}


-Prince Albert attended the unveiling of the new book,  Pirate des Abysses (Pirates of the Abyss), by a well-known free diver, Mr.Pierre Frolla. {Source}. Thursday, The Prince attended the evening organized at the Oceanographic Museum, to celebrate the Lebanon National Day. -Princess Charlene & Cécile de Massy participated in the Ladies Lunch de Monte-Carlo luncheon on Thursday.{Source}

-Charlotte Casiraghi attended an awards ceremony with her godmother, Albina de Boisrouvray on Monday in Paris, France. {Source} She was also reportedly in Abu Dhabi, UAE this weekend, competing in the final leg of the Global Champions Tour 2011, however she was not listed as a rider at the events. {Photos}

-Louis Ducruet celebrated his 19th birthday on Saturday.


-Crown Prince Haakon began an official visit to Nepal on Monday. While in Nepal, the Crown Prince will visit Nepalgunj to inspect UNDP-supported governance and livelihoods programs, meet with officials from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) to develop the private sector,  meet members of the CA´s Indigenous Peoples´ Caucus, and the Blue Diamond Society and will address students at Kathmandu University, amongst other things. {Source} On Tuesday, the Crown Prince visited a few Nepal area schools-Bheri Technical School as well as at the University of Kathmandu and attended an evening reception. {source}

The Netherlands

- Queen Beatrix visited the High Flux Reactor in Petten on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday, she was in Gouda to attend the opening of the exhibition, Schetsen van Schoonheid (Sketches of Beauty).

-Prince Willem-Alexander, Princess Maxima, Princess Aimee, Prince Floris, Princess Marilene & Prince Maurits attended the  première of the film, Nova Zembla, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on Monday. Gallery 1, Gallery 2 

-Princess Maxima attended a conference organized and held at the Nyenrode Business Universiteit in Breukelen on Thursday.


-Queen Sofia & King Juan Carlos attended the a 'Gold Medal of Merit in Fine Arts' awards ceremony on Thursday

-The Prince & Princess of Asturias began their official visit to Chile on Tuesday. See here for a full recap.

-Infanta Elena attended  Spain's Paralympic equestrian team presentation at the Club de Campo on Friday. On Tuesday, Infanta Elena  Attended a  Special Olympics Espana Awards in Madrid.


-Crown Princess Victoria attended the Anders Wall lecture held at the University of Uppsala on Tuesday.

-Princess Madeline will not take part in this year's Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden. Instead, the princess will attend a ceremony in New York City that:

…celebrates the 100th anniversary of Marie Curie’s second Nobel Prize. The event, organized by The New York Academy of Science and held on December 10, will also pay tribute and other female scientists.{Source}
