Royal Profile: HH Prince Nikolai of Denmark
His Highness Prince Nikolai of Denmark, Count of Monpezat was born 28 August 1999, the elder of the two sons of Prince Joachim and Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg. His is the oldest of Queen Margarethe II and Henrik, Prince Consort's grandchildren. At present, he has one younger brother, one younger half brother and a younger half-sister, the half-siblings being from his father's second marriage to Princess Marie. His siblings are Prince Felix, Prince Henrik, and Princess Athena.
Prince Nikolai was christened in chapel of Fredensborg Palace on 6 November 1999. At the christening the musical work Lys på din vej composed by Frederik Magle, dedicated to Prince Nikolai, was given its first performance.

On 16 April 2010, his paternal grandmother's 70th birthday, he received the Commemorative 70th Birthday Medal of Her Majesty The Queen.
