Prince Albert & Princess Charlene visit Lithuania & Poland
Day 1 (October 15)
Upon their arrival, they were received by H.E. Mrs. Dalia Grybauskaite, President of the Republic of Lithuania, at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius{Photos}{Photos}{Video}.
Then The President of the Republic of Lituania and Prince Albert engaged in a discussion of various topics such as current issues such as the Euro crisis, the protection of the environment and renewable energy projects in Lithuania as well as their cooperation in the international bodies.
In the evening, The Sovereign Prince of Monaco paid tribute to those who died for the inhtdependence of Lithuania, at the Antakalnis Cemetery, in the presence of the Lithuanian Defense Minister. Afterward, the Princely couple attended a state dinner at the Presidential Palace.
Day 2 (October 16)
Prince Albert met with the President of Parliament. Then the Princely Couple lunched with the Prime Minister of Lithuania.
Day 3 (October 17)
Upon their arrival, Prince Albert reviewed the Honor Guard with Poland's President, while their wives watched {Photos}. Afterward, the Polish 1st Lady and Princess Charlene attended a Special Olympics Meeting with Polish Athletes {Photos}.
In the afternoon, the princely couple visited the Pilsudski Square where the sovereign prince laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Then the prince and princess participated in a lunch meeting with the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Economy.
Afterward, the sovereign prince met with the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament (Sejm) Ewa Kopacz and Speaker of the Senate before participating in a roundtable meeting with "...Polish company leaders at Sobianski Palace."{Source}
In the evening, the Princely Couple attended a gala in their honor.
Day 4 (October 18)
The Princely duo flew to Krakow to meet with Krakow's mayor. Prince Albert visited Jagiellonian University, where he gave a speech {Photo}. After the prince's speech he toured the Univeristy's museum {Source}
Day 5 (October 19)
The Princely Couple of Monaco visited Auchwitz Concentration Camp in Poland, where they laid flowers at the Execution Wall, toured the crematorium, and the red-brick barracks that housed some inmates {Source/Photos}.
Later on, the Prince visited the wooden barraks and a memorial at the Birkenau. Afterward, the Prince and Princess met with members of the Auchwitz Foundation.{Photos}
