The Lady Serena Alleyne Armstrong-Jones, Viscountess Linley was born 1 March 1970, the daughter of Charles Stanhope, 12th Earl of Harrington and Virginia, Countess of Harrington. Her parents divorced when she was 13 years old. She has one older brother, William Henry Leicester Stanhope, Viscount Petersham.
Through her father, she descends from Charles II through his illegitmate son, Henry FitzRoy, 1st Duke of Grafton, and she also descends through The 1st Earl of Worcester.
She married David Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley on 8 October 1993 at St. Margaret's Church, Westminister. Together, they have two children:
Her children have had limited public engagements, due to their distance to the throne and age. The Hon. Charles Armstrong-Jones was appointed as a Page of Honour to his great-Aunt, Queen Elizabeth II and The Hon. Margarita Armstrong-Jones served as a bridesmaid during Prince William's 2011 Wedding to Catherine Middleton.
