Royal Profile: Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena of York

Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena of York was born 23 March 1990 the younger child of Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York. At present, she is the sixth in line for the throne of the United Kingdom & its commonwealth realms, and is only the second female.

She was baptized at the church of St. Mary Magdalene, Sandringham, by the Bishop of Norwich, on 23 December 1990, she was the first royal baby to have a public christening, and her godparents were:
  •  James Ogilvy (her father's third cousin)
  • Captain Alastair Ross (who was unable to attend)
  • Mrs Ronald Ferguson (her maternal grandfather's 2nd wife)
  • Mrs Patrick Dodd-Noble
  • Miss Louise Blacker

She was named after:
  • Princess Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg (her 1st cousin 4x removed) (Victoria Eugenie would later on become the Queen of Spain, and was the granddaughter of PrincessBeatrice, and great granddaughter of Queen Victoria)
  •  Princess Helena, Queen Victoria's third daughter.

She began her education at Winkfield Montessori School in 1992, of which she only attended for a year. After Winkfield, she joined her sister at Upton House School, which she attended for two years, from 1993-1995. After The Upton House School, she attended Coworth Park School until 2001. She attended St. George's School, Windsor Castle from 2001-2003. She boarded at Marlborough College from 2003-2008, where she earned A-Levels in Art (Grade: A), English Literature (Grade: A), and History of Art (Grade: B) {Source}. She undertook a gap year, before beginning a degree in Art History, English Literature and Politics at Newcastle University in 2009, and graduated with a 2:1 in English in 2012 {Source}

Her parents divorced when she was six years old {Source}. However, because her parents chose to have joint custody and were amicable with another, it was often like her parents weren't divorced at all{Source}. In an April 2008 interview with Tatler, Princess Eugenie described her parents as "the best divorced couple I know" {Source}.

She's had her medical issues. At the age of 12, she underwent back surgery to correct her scoliosis{Source}. When she was seventeen, she underwent orthodontic treatment, which were removed two years later.

Since her education has taken preference over royal service, Princess Eugenie has undertaken limited royal engagements, often appearing only when the entire family would make appearances. She, along side older sister Princess Beatrice, represented their father at the service of thanksgiving for their late aunt, Diana, Princess of Wales in 2007. Her first official royal engagement was opening the Teenage Cancer Trust's unit for young cancer patients in Leeds in October 2008 {Source}. On 2 June 2011, Princess Eugenie, with her father, visited the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital {Source}. In April 2012, she became patron of the Hospital's redevelopment Appeal {Source}. In December 2012, she paid a special visit to the children who were spending the holidays in the hospital {Source}. In 2013, along with her sister Princess Beatrice, she traveled to Germany on request of the British Government {Source}
