In Queen Noor's biography, she states that he is named after the clan of Hashim, a tribe which Muhammad and King Hussein belonged to.
 
 
He was educated in Jordan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. His education began in Jordan, where he attended the Amman Baccalaureate School, before being sent to the United Kingdom. Once in the UK, he began attending St. Mark's School. He then attended Fay School in the United States. In 1999, he graduated from Maret School in the United States.
 
After graduation from his primary education, he attended the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst in 2000. During his year at Sandhurst, he was awarded the Prince Saud Bin Abdullah Prize, which is presented to the cadet with the highest aggregate mark. In 2001, he was back to studying the US, this time at Duke University, before transferring to Georgetown University. He obtained a undergraduate degree in Comparative Studies from Georgetown's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in 2005. After graduation, he undertook a year long course in Quran studies at Balqa Applied University.
 
 
During his time as a Captain of the Jordian Armed Forces in the 3rd Royal Ranger Battalion, he attended several military and security courses.
 
 
In January 2006, it was announced he engaged to Fahdah Mohammed Abunayyan of Saudi Arabia.
They married on 15 April 2006. Together, they have the following children:

He is a member of the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Star of Jordan.He is a member of 1st Class of the Al-Hussein Order of Military MeritHe is a recipient of the King Hussein Medal of Excellence.He also received a medal for Administrative & Leadership Competence. He also recieved a medal for Administrative & Technical Competence.He is currently 9th in succession for the throne. In addition to Jordanian descent, he is English, Swedish, Syrian from his mother.
