Ogilvy has had a successful business career, and was involved with the managing director of Hamilton & Inches Jewellers for several years{Source}. She also has served as the non-executive director of Lloyds TSB Scotland{Source}
n 1992, she received the Scottish Business Achievement Award from The Princess Royal. In 2007 she won the Ernst and Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award for her work with ProjectScotland, a charity of which she is the Founder and Chairman. She also works for the Scottish Executive on social and community charity programmes.
