Princess Margaretha Désirée Victoria of Sweden, Mrs. Ambler was born 31 October 1934 as the eldest daughter of Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten and Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha {Source}. Although the eldest child, as a female, she was never heir to the throne according to the Swedish constitution current at the time{Source}. She was educated privately at the Haga Palace and then at the Stockholm dressmaking school, Märthaskolan (Martha School) {Source}.

In June 1960, Margaretha, along with her first cousin Queen Margrethe II of Denmark andPrincess Astrid of Norway, toured the United States. During their visit, the three Scandinavian princesses toured Disneyland and Hollywood and also visited Paramount Pictures, where they met Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, and Elvis Presley {Source}.


She currently resides in England, and does not perform any official funtions on her brother's behalf. However, you can see her attending weddings, christenings and funerals. Every year, she used to open the annual Swedish Church Christmas Bazaar in London {Source}. However, it has been several years since she's done this.
