George Philip Nicolas Windsor, The Earl of St. Andrews was born 26 June 1962 as the eldest son of Prince Edward, The Duke of Kent & Katharine, The Duchess of Kent{Source}. He has a younger brother and sister, two siblings-in-law, and five nephews and two nieces{Source}:

He was educated in England. He attended Eton College and The University of Cambridge's Downing College.


He, like much of his family, participates in charity work. He is a trustee of the SOS Children's Villages UK. He is a patron of the Association for the International Cancer Research. In April 2012, he joined the board of trustees of the Next Century Foundation. He os a Patron of the Welsh Sinfonia. He is a trustee of the Global eHealth Foundation.


He married Sylvanna, The Countess of St. Andrews on 9 January 1988{Source}. Together, they have three children{Source}:

  3. The Lady Amelia Windsor (1995)


Upon his marriage, due to his wife's catholic faith, he was barred from succession. However, once the new succession rules came into play in 2015, he became 35th in succession. Due to his two eldest children becoming Catholics in their teens, they are still barred from the throne. He is followed in succession by his youngest daughter, The Lady Amelia. He is currently first in succession for the Dukedom of Kent, followed by his son and brother. As of 2019, he is 38th in succession for the British throne {Source}
