Royal Profile: Countess Zaria van Oranje-Nassau, Jonkvrouw van Amsberg
Countess Joanna Zaria Nicoline Milou van Oranje-Nassau, Jonkvrouw van Amsberg was born 18 June 2006 as the second daughter of Prince Friso van Oranje-Nassau & Princess Mabel van Oranje-Nassau. She has one sister:
Her godparents are:
Because her father did not seek parliamentary approval before marrying her mother, she is not in line for the throne of The Netherlands. By Royal Decree of 19 March 2004, nr. 126 is determined that all children of the couple will bear the title of Count (Countess) of Orange-Nassau and the honorific Jonkheer (Jonkvrouwe) van Amsberg, and have the surname Van Oranje-Nassau van Amsberg. The titles are hereditary in male lineage {Source}. She is also distantly in line for the British throne, via her ancestor William the Silent (I think-if anyone knows the connection, feel free to let me know).
Due to her parents controversial marriage, she and her sister were primarily raised in London. However, since their father's accident in 2012 and subsequent death in 2013, I believe Princess Mabel has returned with her daughters to The Netherlands.
Her godparents are:
- King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands (paternal uncle)
- Prince Jaime of Bourbon-Parma, The Count of Bardi (her father's maternal first cousin)
- Nicoline Wisse Smit (maternal aunt)
- Ruben Amerling (friend of her parents)
- Maria Luz Luano (friends of her parents)
